This intriguing house, aptly named, reminds one of Noah’s Ark. It nestles amongst giant trees in a wooded garden a few steps away from the meandering river.
The house has been tastefully furnished with French country flair, with an interesting mix of robust antiques and contemporary furniture. It comprises a downstairs lounge/dining area with large kitchen, open fireplace, a formal dining area and a small breakfast nook. The covered veranda looks out onto the spacious garden and play area equipped with swings and a climbing area for the children. The built-in seating and generous table encourage lazy al fresco dining and the comfortable day bed is an ideal place to read a good book. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, 5 plate gas stove with electric oven and an adequate preparation area and cupboard space. A small laundry area houses a washing machine, dishwasher and ice maker. The outdoor pit braai area is set away from the house with the circle of wooden seats and rustic workbench inviting long evenings around the fire.
Bedrooms: A wooden staircase leads up to two of the airy bedrooms, one with a king size and the other with a queen sized bed. Large windows overlook different aspects of the garden. The comfortable beds have 100% cotton percale linen and Hungarian goose down duvets. Two more bedrooms are accessed from outside the house; one with an antique oak double bed and the other with two old iron bedsteads.
Bathrooms: The upstairs wood paneled bathroom has a basin, toilet and bath. The downstairs bathroom consists of shower, basin and separate toilet.
Adequate secure off-street parking is available behind a lockable farm gate.
Linen and towels provided, but bring your own swimming towels.
